Erin, the first hurricane of the 2025 season, knocked out power to nearly 155,000 utility customers as a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph. Erin has undergone dramatic fluctuations in intensity: A Category 5 on Saturday, the hurricane weakened on Sunday but is expected to regain strength on Monday and Tuesday when it turns north to pass between the US and Bermuda. The East Coast is expected to experience dangerous rip currents and surf during the week.

Expand Energy Executive Vice President and CFO Mohit Singh left the company “due to a termination without cause.”
Singh’s departure from the largest natural gas producer in the U.S. is effective Aug. 13, the company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing after markets closed on Aug. 14. He is eligible to receive post-employment benefits under Expand’s executive severance plan.
Singh has served as executive vice president and CFO at Expand, the nation’s largest natural gas producer, since December 2021. He previously served as an executive with BPX Energy, the U.S. onshore subsidiary of supermajor BP Plc, from 2015 through 2021, according to investor filings.

Golar LNG is in talks about developing a fourth floating LNG (FLNG) production vessel for its fleet, the Bermuda-based company said Aug. 14, during its second-quarter earnings call.
The company is talking with three shipyards for design and construction ideas. The designs range in capacity from 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 5.4 mtpa.
Golar currently has two FLNG units operating off the coast of Africa and one under construction. FLNG Gimi, off the coast of Mauritania and Senegal, began commercial operations in June.
