Five New Mexico oil and gas operators were fined a total of $275,000 after failing to report methane emissions as required by state law.
The operators, all headquartered in Midland, were cited by the State’s Oil Conservation Division (OCD) and issued $55,000 in civil penalties each.
They each allegedly did not produce quarterly methane emissions reports as were required in the OCD’s recently enacted emissions regulations.
