Tom Ward announces partnership with Texas equity firm

Bayou City Energy Management forms partnership

Tom L. Ward, formerly a stakeholder in both Chesapeake and SandRidge, announced Thursday his year-old company, Mach Resources LLC, has formed a partnership with Houston-based Bayou City Energy Management (BCE)

Mach Resources LLC and Bayou City Energy Management LLC announced the formation of BCE-Mach LLC, a new partnership acquiring, exploring and developing oil and gas assets across Oklahoma and Kansas. The new partnership will focus on acquisition opportunities of producing properties with strong cash flow generation and drilling inventories.

Bayou City Energy Management, led by Will McMullen and Mark Stoner, is a private equity firm founded in 2015 focusing on the upstream oil and gas sector. Mach, led by Tom L. Ward, was founded in early 2017 with a preference towards low-risk, conventional asset development.

BCE has drilling partnerships with Houston-based Alta Mesa Resources and Oklahoma City-based Chaparral Energy. Each of those deals involves drilling programs in Oklahoma’s STACK play in west-central and northwest Oklahoma.

Mach I is an independent oil and natural gas producer focused on acquiring, exploring and developing high-return, low-cost projects. The company is managed by the executive team of Mach Resources LLC, including CEO Tom L. Ward. Founded in January 2018, Mach I owns and operates a portfolio of assets primarily located in the core of the Mississippian Lime play in Northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. Mach I is headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK.
