The US Army Corps of Engineers has extended the review schedule for Enbridge's proposed $500 million Line 5 tunnel project beneath Michigan's Straits of Mackinacby more than a year, with completion of a draft environmental impact statement now expected in spring 2025. Enbridge expressed disappointment over the revised timeframe and warned that construction of the project won't begin until 2026 at the earliest.

After years of extreme drought and dismal snowpack, California has had a remarkably wet winter and is now veering into record-setting territory for snowfall.
